Who is the "dummy"?
The dummy is the hand of cards belonging to the declarer's partner, which is placed face-up on the table after the opening lead. While the declarer plays the hand, the dummy’s cards are visible to all players, allowing both the declarer and the opponents to see the partner’s cards. The dummy does not make any decisions during the play of the hand, but the declarer can use the dummy’s cards to strategize and try to win the required number of tricks.
