What is a "fly"?

A fly is a small insect belonging to the order Diptera, characterized by a single pair of wings. With a diverse range of species, flies can be found in various habitats worldwide. What is a "fly"?

A fly is a closure or opening in the front of trousers or pants that allow for easy putting on or taking off of the garment. It typically consists of a zipper or a series of buttons, although in the past, flies were often fastened with hooks and eyes or even laced together. The purpose of a fly is to provide an opening through which the wearer can use the bathroom or change clothes without having to take the garment off completely. Some garments, such as skirts or dresses, may also have a fly, but this is less common.
