What is the "pot"?
In poker, the pot is the total amount of money or chips that players have bet during a hand. It starts with the initial blinds or antes and grows as players make their bets, raises, and calls throughout the betting rounds. The pot is won by the player who either has the best hand at the end of the game or who successfully bluffs other players into folding their hands. The pot is divided among the winners if there are multiple players with strong hands or in the case of a split pot.
