What is "eventing"?
Eventing is an equestrian sport that combines three different disciplines: dressage, cross-country, and show jumping. In dressage, the horse and rider perform a set pattern of movements to demonstrate precision and control. Cross-country involves navigating a course with natural obstacles, such as jumps, water hazards, and ditches, over a long, challenging route. Show jumping is a timed event where the horse and rider must jump over a series of fences without knocking them down. Eventing tests the skill, stamina, and teamwork of both the rider and the horse in these three areas.
