What is "jebena"?

A jebena is a traditional Ethiopian coffee pot used to brew and serve Ethiopian coffee. Typically made of clay or ceramic, the jebena has a distinctive spherical shape with a narrow neck and a spout. It often features colorful designs or patterns and may be embellished with traditional Ethiopian motifs. To prepare coffee using a jebena, finely ground coffee beans are mixed with water and sometimes spices such as cardamom or cloves in the pot. The mixture is then heated over a charcoal or electric stove until it reaches a near-boiling point, allowing the flavors to infuse. Once brewed, the coffee is poured from the spout into small cups.
