What is a "moka pot"?
A moka pot, also known as a stovetop espresso maker, is a classic Italian coffee brewing device. It consists of three chambers: a bottom chamber for water, a middle chamber with a metal filter basket for ground coffee, and a top chamber where the brewed coffee collects. To use a moka pot, water is added to the bottom chamber, ground coffee is placed in the filter basket, and the pot is assembled and placed on a stove or heat source. As the water heats up, steam pressure builds up in the bottom chamber, forcing hot water through the coffee grounds and into the top chamber, resulting in a rich, strong coffee similar to espresso.
