What is "yaksik"?

Yaksik is a traditional Korean sweet rice cake that is made with glutinous rice, dried fruits, nuts, and honey or brown sugar. The rice is first soaked in water and then cooked with various ingredients such as jujubes, chestnuts, pine nuts, and cinnamon to create a sweet and fragrant flavor.
