tieback definition and meaning

What is a "tieback"?

A tieback is a decorative accessory used in window treatments to hold back curtains, drapes, or other types of window coverings. Tiebacks are typically made of fabric, cord, or other types of materials and are designed to be secured around the curtain or drape and attached to a hook or other types of hardware mounted on the wall. They come in a variety of styles, colors, and materials and can be easily adjusted to control the amount of light entering the room and to create a layered and textured effect.
