What is "omeprazole"?
Omeprazole is a medication used to reduce stomach acid production. It works by blocking the enzyme in the stomach wall that produces acid. Omeprazole is commonly prescribed to treat conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), stomach ulcers, and conditions where excessive stomach acid causes irritation.
