What is a "cricket"?

A cricket is a small insect known for its chirping sound. With its flattened body and long antennae, it is well-adapted for jumping and navigating through vegetation. Crickets are nocturnal creatures, becoming more active during the night when they search for food and mates. The males produce their characteristic chirping sound by rubbing their wings together, a behavior used to attract females and establish territory.
