Toxoplasmosis is an infection caused by the parasite Toxoplasma gondii. It can affect humans and animals. In most healthy individuals, toxoplasmosis causes mild flu-like symptoms or no symptoms at all. However, it can be serious for pregnant women and individuals with weakened immune systems, leading to complications such as birth problems or severe illness. Prevention measures include cooking meat thoroughly, washing fruits and vegetables, and avoiding contact with cat feces.
