Toxoplasmosis is an infection caused by the parasite Toxoplasma gondii. It can affect humans and animals. In most healthy individuals, toxoplasmosis causes mild flu-like symptoms or no symptoms at all. Prevention measures include cooking meat thoroughly, washing fruits and vegetables, and avoiding contact with cat feces.
