What is "turbinate"?

Turbinate, also known as nasal concha or nasal turbinate, refers to the structures located inside the nasal cavity. There are three pairs of turbinates: superior, middle, and inferior. These bony structures are covered with a mucous membrane and are responsible for filtering, humidifying, and warming the air we breathe.
