Anaphylaxis is a serious, potentially life-threatening allergic reaction that happens very quickly after exposure to an allergen, such as certain foods, insect stings, medications, or latex. Avoiding known allergens and carrying an epinephrine auto-injector are crucial preventive measures for those at risk of anaphylaxis.
