What is a "range"?
A range, often referred to as a stove, is a kitchen appliance that combines a cooktop and an oven in one unit. It typically consists of a flat cooking surface with multiple burners, where pots and pans are placed for cooking, and a compartment below for baking, roasting, or broiling food. Ranges can be powered by gas or electricity, with gas models using a gas flame to heat the cooktop and oven, while electric models use electric coils or ceramic glass surfaces for cooking.
