What is a "stablemate"?
A stablemate is a horse that stays in the same place as another horse, usually in a racing or training environment. These horses share the same caretaker and may train together, but they do not have to be related. The term is mostly used in horse racing to describe horses that belong to the same owner or are managed by the same trainer. Since they are kept in the same place, stablemates can develop a connection, but they still compete against each other in races.
