Dewberry
01
zarzamora
the bluish-black fruit resembling a blackberry, growing on a bush
What is a "dewberry"?
The dewberry is a small, sweet fruit that resembles a blackberry but grows on low, trailing vines rather than upright bushes. Dewberries are dark purple to black in color when ripe and have a similar flavor to blackberries, with a balance of sweetness and tartness. They are typically smaller and more fragile than blackberries, with a softer texture. Dewberries are commonly found in the wild and they can be eaten fresh, used in desserts, jams, and preserves, or added to baked goods like pies and cobblers.
