What is "fibula"?
The fibula is a slender, long bone found on the lateral side (outer side) of the leg, parallel to the larger tibia. While the tibia primarily bears weight, the fibula provides important structural support and serves as an attachment site for various muscles involved in ankle and foot movements. Although it is not directly involved in weight-bearing, the fibula contributes to the overall stability of the lower leg and helps to distribute forces during movement.
