What is a "moonroof"?

A moonroof is a type of sunroof made of glass that allows light into the car even when closed. Unlike some sunroofs that can be completely removed, a moonroof usually slides or tilts open but remains attached to the vehicle. Many modern moonroofs have a tinted or shaded section to reduce glare while still letting in natural light. Some are controlled manually, while others use a button for automatic operation.
