What is an "ollie"?
An ollie is a fundamental skateboarding trick where the skater jumps into the air with the skateboard, causing it to rise with them. The skater uses their back foot to push down on the tail of the board, making the front of the skateboard lift off the ground. At the same time, the skater’s front foot helps level the board in the air. The ollie is the foundation for many other tricks, such as kickflips and grinds, and is often performed on flat ground or used to jump over obstacles. Mastering the ollie requires good timing, balance, and control.
