What is a "caught"?
A caught in cricket occurs when the batter hits the ball with their bat, and the ball is caught by a fielder, wicketkeeper, or bowler before it touches the ground. If the ball is caught cleanly, the batter is out. This is one of the most common ways for a batter to be dismissed. It can happen with any type of shot, such as a defensive shot or a powerful drive, as long as the ball is caught without bouncing.
