What is "frit"?
Frit is finely ground glass that has been melted and then crushed into a powder. It is used in various glassworking techniques, including in ceramics and stained glass, as well as in the creation of glass art. Frit can be mixed with other materials or applied directly to a surface before being melted in a kiln. When heated, frit melts and fuses to the underlying glass or pottery, creating a smooth, glossy finish and adding color and texture to the piece.
