What is a "beanpot"?

A beanpot is a small, round, ceramic or stoneware cooking vessel with a wide base, narrow neck, and small handles on either side. It is specifically designed for cooking baked beans, but can also be used for other bean dishes, soups, stews, or casseroles. Beanpots typically have a glazed interior to prevent sticking and facilitate easy cleaning, and they often come with a lid to trap moisture and flavor during cooking.
