What is "sarma"?

arma are stuffed cabbage leaves that originate from the cuisine of Eastern Europe and the Balkans. Softened cabbage leaves enfold a highly seasoned ground meat and rice filling, with spices like dill, parsley and mint infusing everything with an aromatic lift. Traditionally served warm, sarma offer a medley of textures - the yielding cabbage envelopes, the hearty filling and aromatic broth.
