Tamoxifen
What is "tamoxifen"?
Tamoxifen is a medication commonly prescribed for the treatment of breast cancer. It works by blocking the effects of estrogen, a hormone essential for the development and functioning of female reproductive tissues, specifically in breast tissue. This action helps to slow or stop the growth of cancer cells that need estrogen to grow. In addition to treating breast cancer, tamoxifen may also be used to reduce the risk of breast cancer in individuals at high risk.
