What is a "talapoin"?

The talapoin is a small species of monkey found in central and West Africa, known for its compact size and distinctive appearance. Talapoins are arboreal and highly adaptable, found in various habitats including forests, swamps, and mangroves. They are known for their agility and leaping ability, often moving swiftly through the trees. Talapoins are omnivorous, feeding on a variety of foods such as fruits, seeds, insects, and small animals. They live in social groups called troops, which typically consist of multiple males, females, and their offspring. Talapoins are not considered endangered, but some populations may face threats from habitat loss and hunting.
