What is a "stage whisper"?
A stage whisper is a technique used by actors to speak in a way that sounds like a quiet, private conversation, but is still loud enough for the audience to hear. It is used to convey that the character is sharing something confidential or making a comment that other characters on stage are not supposed to overhear. Despite its name, a stage whisper is projected clearly so that the audience can understand it, even though it seems like a secret or personal exchange between characters.
