What is "abuttal"?

In construction and land use, it describes a situation where two pieces of land, buildings, or walls meet at a shared boundary without any gap in between. Abuttal is often used to describe how structures or properties are positioned in relation to each other, especially when planning or discussing land division, zoning, or the placement of buildings.
