Hashish has high amounts of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the substance in cannabis that changes one's senses, mood, and physical sensations when used. Like cannabis, hashish may also be used for medicinal purposes in some places where it is legal, but its mood-changing use is often illegal because of its harmful effects and potential for abuse and addiction.
