These materials stick together and block the flow of waste in sewage systems, often causing significant plumbing issues or even complete blockages. Fatbergs are typically found in urban areas where cooking oil and household waste are disposed of incorrectly by pouring fats down the drain. They can grow to massive sizes and are difficult and costly to remove.
