What is a "redshank"?

The redshank is a wading bird found in wetland habitats across Europe and Asia. It is characterized by its slender body, long reddish legs, and distinctive red legs and bill. With its elegant appearance and loud, melodious call, the redshank is a notable presence in coastal areas, estuaries, and marshes. It forages for food by probing its long bill into the mud, feeding on small invertebrates and insects.
