What is "ornithosis"?

Ornithosis, also known as psittacosis or avian chlamydiosis, is a bacterial infection that mainly affects birds but can also be spread to humans. It is caused by the bacterium Chlamydia psittaci. In birds, the infection can lead to symptoms such as respiratory problems, nasal discharge, lack of energy, and decreased appetite.
