Intercession

the action of talking to someone so that they help settle an argument or show kindness to someone else

a prayer to God on behalf of another person

Examples

1. Tribunes, like consuls and other magistrates, possessed the right of intercession.

2. This temporary alienation from God is ultimately repaired through Moses' intense prayer and intercession.

3. After his death, then, his intercession was invoked across Europe, and his cult spread from country to country.

4. And so God accepts Moses's intercession and he relents.
