What is a "hatchet"?
A hatchet is a small, one-handed axe used for chopping wood, cutting branches, or splitting small logs. It has a sharp metal blade attached to a short handle, often made of wood, fiberglass, or metal, allowing for easy control. The compact size makes it suitable for outdoor activities such as camping and survival tasks, as well as for light woodwork and yard maintenance. The back side of the blade may also serve as a hammer in some designs.
