What is "artistic swimming"?
Artistic swimming, previously called synchronized swimming, is a water sport that combines swimming, dance, and gymnastics. Athletes perform choreographed routines in a pool, set to music, showcasing precise movements, elegant poses, and synchronized teamwork. Performers are judged on their technique, timing, creativity, and ability to stay in harmony with the music and each other. The sport requires strength, flexibility, breath control, and stamina, as many moves are performed underwater or while holding challenging positions.
