a form of rugby football played with teams of 13 players, featuring more structured gameplay and frequent ball-handling
What is "rugby league"?
Rugby league is a team sport played with an oval-shaped ball. The objective is to score points by carrying the ball over the opponent’s goal line or kicking it through their goalposts. Each team has 13 players who can run with the ball, pass it to teammates, or kick it. Tackling is used to stop the opposing team, and after a tackle, the play restarts with a "play-the-ball," where the player places the ball on the ground and taps it with their foot to begin the next phase of play. Teams earn points through tries, conversions, penalty kicks, and drop goals. The game is played in two halves, with the focus on fast-paced action and strategic moves.
