Who is a "blueliner"?
A blueliner is a player in ice hockey who plays on the defensive side of the rink, near the blue line. Their main job is to stop the opposing team from getting into the defensive zone and to prevent scoring chances. Blueliners are responsible for blocking shots, checking opposing players, and passing the puck to teammates to start counterattacks. They are also involved in clearing the puck from their own zone and helping maintain control of the game. A blueliner needs to be strong, quick, and able to read the game well.
