What is "molote"?
Molotes are a type of Mexican snack or appetizer that are popular in the Oaxaca region of Mexico. They are made by filling a small, oval-shaped masa dough with a mixture of ingredients such as mashed potatoes, chorizo, cheese, or beans, and then deep-frying until crispy and golden brown. The filling is often seasoned with spices such as cumin, garlic, and chili powder, to add extra flavor and complexity. Molotes are served hot and crispy, and are often accompanied by a variety of sauces and toppings, such as salsa, guacamole, or sour cream.
