What is a "balaclava"?

A balaclava, also known as a ski mask, is a headwear garment that covers the entire face except for the eyes. It is typically made of stretchable fabric such as wool, fleece, or synthetic materials, and can be worn for protection against cold weather or wind, or as a form of concealment during activities such as skiing, hunting, or military operations. The balaclava is designed to fit closely around the head, with an opening for the nose and mouth, and may have additional openings for the ears or eyes. Some versions may also have a separate opening for the mouth or be equipped with a filter to protect against dust or other airborne particles.
