Outsider art
01
art created by those outside of the mainstream art world, often self-taught artists with no formal training
What is "outsider art"?
Outsider art refers to artwork created by artists who learned on their own and have had little or no official training, often working outside the traditional art world. These artists, sometimes called "visionary" or "folk" artists, create art inspired by their personal ideas, experiences, or emotions rather than by typical artistic techniques or trends. Outsider art often includes uncommon materials, styles, and subjects, representing the unique perspectives and imaginations of the artists. The movement values the pure and natural creativity that comes from outside the recognized art community.
