a level of professional sports competition below the highest level, typically where younger or less experienced players develop their skills
What is a "minor league"?
A minor league refers to a lower level of professional competition in sports, where teams and players are still developing their skills or working toward reaching major league status. Minor league teams are often affiliated with major league teams, serving as a training ground for younger or less experienced players to gain more experience and improve their abilities. While the level of competition in minor leagues is still high, it is generally not as intense or well-known as major leagues. Minor league games often have smaller audiences and less media attention.
