What is a "loggerhead"?

Loggerhead is a species of marine turtle found in various parts of the world's oceans. It is named for its large head, which is proportionally larger than other sea turtle species. Loggerheads have a reddish-brown shell and powerful jaws, allowing them to feed on a diet consisting mainly of bottom-dwelling invertebrates such as crabs and mollusks.
