What is a "mudflap"?
A mudflap is a piece of material, often made of rubber or plastic, attached to the sides of a vehicle's tires to prevent mud, water, rocks, and debris from being thrown up by the tires. They help protect the vehicle’s body, other vehicles, or pedestrians from damage caused by flying debris. Mudflaps are commonly seen on trucks, vans, and some cars, and they can also help reduce the amount of dirt that gets kicked onto the vehicle's paintwork.
