What is "chronic fatigue syndrome"?

Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), also known as myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME), is a complex and weakening condition characterized by extreme fatigue that does not improve with rest and lasts for at least six months. Other common symptoms may include muscle pain, joint pain, headaches, and difficulty concentrating or remembering things.
