What is the "CEFR"?
The CEFR, or Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, is a widely recognized system for assessing and describing language proficiency across different languages. It provides a set of standardized levels that range from A1, which indicates basic ability, to C2, which denotes near-native proficiency. The CEFR is used to evaluate listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, offering a clear framework for learners, teachers, and employers to understand language competence. This framework is helpful in various contexts, such as language education, curriculum development, and language assessment, facilitating communication about language skills across different regions and languages.
