It spreads through saliva and close contact with infected individuals. Symptoms of mono typically include fatigue, sore throat, fever, swollen glands, and swollen tonsils. Some people may also experience rash, headache, and abdominal pain. Most cases of mono are mild and resolve on their own with rest and supportive care, but it can take several weeks or even months to fully recover. Complications such as an enlarged spleen or liver may occur, so it is essential to avoid some sports and heavy lifting during recovery.
