What is a "condor"?

A condor is a majestic and powerful bird known for its massive size and impressive wingspan. They are part of the vulture family and are native to the Americas. With their black plumage, featherless head, and distinctive white collar, condors are easily recognizable. They are among the largest flying birds in the world, with some individuals reaching wingspans of up to 10 feet or more. Condors primarily feed on carrion, playing an important role in the ecosystem as nature's cleanup crew. Due to habitat loss, hunting, and poisoning, condor populations have drastically declined, leading to their classification as endangered species.
