The spectacled bear, also known as the Andean bear or the jukumari, is a medium-sized bear species native to the Andean region of South America. It is characterized by its distinctive facial markings, with rings of light-colored fur around its eyes that resemble spectacles, and a stocky build with a shaggy coat. Spectacled bears are mainly herbivorous, feeding on a variety of plant materials, but they are also known to eat insects and small mammals.
