What is "cold brew"?
Cold brew is a method of making coffee by steeping coffee grounds in cold or room temperature water for an extended period of time, typically 12-24 hours. Unlike traditional hot coffee, which is brewed quickly using hot water, cold brew is made by slowly extracting the flavor and caffeine from the coffee grounds through a process of time and temperature. The resulting liquid is a smooth and strong coffee concentrate that can be diluted with water, milk, or cream and served over ice. Cold brew coffee has a different flavor profile than hot coffee, with a milder and less acidic taste. It is often enjoyed during warm weather and is a popular beverage at coffee shops and cafes. Cold brew is also sometimes used as a base for other drinks, such as iced lattes or coffee cocktails.
