Voorbeelden
" O captain, my captain " is an example of the vocative in English poetry.
"O kapitein, mijn kapitein" is een voorbeeld van de aanspreekvorm in de Engelse poëzie.
The vocative is less distinct in modern English but still evident in certain phrases.
